NOTES FOR PARACHUTISTS

AGE : Minimum age allowed is 16 years anyone under 18 requires the parent \ guardian PARENTAL CONSENT FORM. Parents \ guardian must also sign the medical form as consent.

Maximum age is 50. Exceptions to this rule are if they have had previous experience or are of a very high standard of fitness. Please phone first to check.

Any person 40 years or more must always have the doctor sign the MEDICAL FORM for solo jumps or MEDICAL FORM for Tandem Jumps

If 18 years to 39 years you can sign the medical yourself as long as you do not suffer from any medical conditions listed below, also listed on the medical form.

If 18 years to 39 years and you have a medical condition listed you must get a doctors signature on the MEDICAL FORM for solo jumps or MEDICAL FORM for Tandem Jumps

Parachutists need a reasonably high standard of physical fitness and must not be overweight in relation to their sex, age, and height. No person above the age of 50 years will normally be accepted for novice parachute training. Exceptions to this rule may be allowed if the candidate either has previous experience or is of a high standard of fitness and can convince the instructor of that fitness.

I do not, and have not, suffered from any of the following conditions which I understand may lead to a dangerous situation with regard to myself or other persons during parachuting:

Epilepsy, fits, severe head injury, recurrent blackouts or giddiness, disease of the brain or nervous system, high blood pressure, heart or lung disease, recurrent weakness or dislocation of any limb, diabetes, mental illness, drug or alcohol addiction.

As well as the conditions listed above, the following may cause problems to parachutists and if you have ever suffered from any of them you must seek medical approval before parachuting:

Previous fractures, back strain, arthritis and severe joint sprains. Chronic bronchitis. Asthma. Rheumatic fever. Pneumothorax. Liver or Kidney disease. Thyroid, adrenal or other glandular disorder. Chronic ear or sinus disease. Any condition which requires the regular use of drugs. Anaemia. Recent blood donation.

If you wear spectacles they should be securely attached while parachuting. If contact lenses are used, protective goggles should be worn. Your sight must be adequate to read a car number plate at 25 yards.
